Election Day Watch Party!
November 5th will be one of the most consequential days in American history. Come share this time with friends as we see what the future holds for Boone County, Iowa, and the nation.
We will have some food and drink, but welcome your contributions to the festivities.
Election Day
Today is THE day. If you have not voted already, you must vote in person. Here is the link to everything you need to know, and have with you, in order to vote. Remember: democracy hangs in the balance.
Last day for in-person voting
This is the last day for in person voting. It is also the last day mail in ballots may be received in order to be counted for this election.
Brown Woodard Award Dinner
The Brown Woodard Award Dinner will once again be held at the Leonard Good Center in Ogden, featuring a delightful array of food, beverages, and inspiring speakers. This year’s event will highlight local culinary offerings from Boone County, including Reinken Cattle Company, Winter Family Farm, and Hall Orchard, alongside local wine and beer makers.
Attendees will have the opportunity to celebrate our dedicated volunteers—those who staff headquarters, canvass neighborhoods, and support our candidates and the BCD in so many ways The highlight of the evening will be the announcement of the annual Brown Woodard Award winner.
Join us for an energizing night, as we come together to support Kamala, Tim, and our local candidates in their mission to take back Iowa for the people. Tickets are available online, and we also encourage participation in our online auction, with items available for pickup at the event.

First day for in-person voting
Today you may go to the courthouse to vote. Make sure you have proper ID!!
Pufferbilly Days Parade
The BCD will have multiple units in the parade! You can walk or you can ride; there will be plenty of space for either. We have candy, music, bubble machine, and plenty of smiles and waves to share with folks.
We are adding two units to the Boone Democrats entries in the Pufferbilly Parade. We will have the main float, a trailer with signs, and several four wheelers and a car. Plenty of room for everyone.
We will go directly to the north DMACC lot rather than picking up a line up number at 8:10 AM.
We will still plan to get the float out at 7:30 AM at 313 5th St. You can go there and ride over to the start.
Parking close may be an issue; starting out with the float may be just the ticket.
Wear a campaign or BCD t-shirt if you have one; we should have extras to loan out

Campaign Headquarters Grand Opening
The Boone County Democrats will hold a grand opening of campaign headquarters on Sept. 3rd. Our Story Street location will be open Tuesday and Saturday from 10 am until 4 pm and Thursdays from noon until 6 pm.
Come and see the space, volunteer to answer the phone or help out in other ways. We will have yard signs and campaign literature available.
Madrid Labor Day Parade
Join us for the parade on Labor Day. As the rights of workers come under increasing attack, help show your support for labor, for Democrats, and for the American people. You can ride or walk with us.
Come to Edgewood Park at 9:30 and look for the BCD float. Let’s go for a record number of people. Make a blue wave in Madrid. Democrats have always been the party that supports labor and working folks and we need to shout it out on Labor Day.
First Day for Absentee Ballot Request
Today is the first day you can request an absentee ballot.

Please note that the request must be received with all the needed information. You can pick up a request from the auditor’s office

New Route: Boone County Fair Parade
The parade will start at 5pm Thursday evening. Because Story St. is under construction, lineup will be in the parking lot of the Boone and Scenic Valley RR and will go down 11th St. to Meridian, then turn and head to the fairgrounds. We will have candy, flags and the ever popular bubble machine. Please feel free to ride or walk and join us for what is always a fun parade. We will also be having a booth and welcome your help setting up, taking a shift at the booth, or helping with take down.

Join us for the parade!! Line up at the high school parking lot. Ride or walk. Wave, hand out candy, show your blue spirit.
Picnic for the People
Get ready for some great picnic food, games for kids of all ages, and a chance to hear from and ask questions of our local candidates. Penny Vossler and Margaret Liston are confirmed. The list will be updated as we have more confirmations.
Right next to the High Trestle Trail, so bring your bikes or walk to the Trestle.
